Candlelight and caramel were the names of the game at rapper Kardinal Offishall’s 14th annual fundraiser, where Toronto’s young suits toasted the holidays with local celebs. Club spot This is London was transformed into a cozy Christmas living room where a crowd of 250 sipped on mistletoe-tinis, indulged in whip creamed beignets from The Waffle Bar, and checked out plaid-clad babes from the Tilted Kilt pub. Kardi, as the cool kids call the Toronto rapper, rolled with a crew of athletes and musicians from singer Danny Fernandes and CFL all-star Adrian Smith to musicians Karl Wolf and Estelle, who both took to the mic for an intimate and casual performance. More than $35,000 was raised for the Caribbean Paediatric Cancer and Blood Program at SickKids Hospital, a pan-Caribbean network aimed at improving the lives of children with cancer and blood disorders.
