Paisley is making a resurgence this season, and the effect is almost dizzying. The teardrop-shaped motif, which originated in Iran but takes its name from a Scottish textiles town, has embellished an array of fashionable objects, including a duvet cover from Brooks Brothers in pastel hues that draw out the design's preppy side. Meanwhile, Charlotte Olympia's sandals mix the country vibe of a bandana with uptown peep-toe chic. More modernized takes include U.K.-based jewellery designer Sonal Bhaskaran's graphic paisley-chain cuff and Peter Pilotto's spring 2015 collection, which featured multi-hued frocks covered in an exaggerated paisley print that proves you can teach an old drop new tricks.
