Party photos of the week: HBO Canada's Girls Add to ...

The Toronto fashion set went wild for Girls star Allison Williams at a private party held by HBO Home Entertainment Canada to launch the Golden Globe-nominated first season on DVD. Held at House of Moments on Dec. 4, Ms. Williams got personal during a Q&A with Toronto celeb-whisperer Shinan Govani, revealing her Ivy League roots (a Yale graduate, no less), her Bieber-onian rise to stardom (a YouTube video caught Judd Apatow’s eye) and her sincere respect for Girls creator Lena Dunham (who everyone secretly wishes was there, too). Post prodding, Ms. Williams stepped out of her roped off area – actually, she physically removed the rope – so she could get close with her fans who were a mix of editors, fashion designers and lots and lots of girls. Local artist Beckie DiLeo did custom fashion sketches while the rest of the party crew sipped cast-inspired signature cocktails, including The Marnie, in honour of Ms. Williams’s character, which was a layer cake martini with Stoli Choco Raz, lemon juice, hazelnut and raspberries. Fans of the show will immediately ask, what was The Hannah? Why, a White Russian, of course.
