Look for thin stalks of asparagus, but you don't want them too stringy or they won't hold up on the grill.
1 bunch asparagus
1 tablespoon olive oil
sea salt and pepper
Heat grill to medium or 350 F.
Clean asparagus and snap off bottoms.
Toss asparagus in olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Lay asparagus on the grill for about 5 to 7 minutes with the lid down, turning once.
Do a taste test for doneness - you want some crispness to the centre of the stalk.
Don't always expect to see grill marks - the stem will start to wrinkle a little and you'll see some browning on the tender tips.
