French toast is a fast and easy breakfast you can serve savory with ketchup and bacon or keep sweet with maple syrup and fruit.

Ingredients

3 large eggs

3/4 cup milk

pinch salt

8 slices thick-cut bread

butter for frying

Method

Combine eggs, milk and salt in a bowl large enough to dip the bread and whisk until combined.

Heat a large pan over medium-high heat on the stove. Add a tablespoon of butter.

Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture until well coated.

Fry until golden-brown on each side. Add butter as needed.

You can keep the finished French toast warm on a plate in the oven on its lowest heat. French toast also reheats well in the microwave.
