This ice cream will have a more crystallized texture than store-bought ice cream. However, it is fabulously fresh and chock full of berries. If you have an ice-cream machine, follow the maker's instructions.

4 cups strawberries, hulled
1½ cup granulated sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
1½ cups whipping cream
Purée strawberries, sugar and lemon juice in a food processor. Stir in the whipping cream.
Place in freezer. When mixture is frozen, remove and purée in food processor. Refreeze and purée again.
