Ingredients

1 cup strawberries

4 1/2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons butter

3/4 cup orange juice

1/4 cup Herradura tequila

2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Dollop of whipped cream (optional)

Several peppermint leaves (optional)

Method

Place sugar and butter in a pan on low heat for about a minute.

Slice strawberries and place them in the pan carefully so they retain their shape. Immediately add tequila and flambé the berries. Add orange juice and simmer until half of the juice has evaporated, then remove from heat.

Get out two wine glasses and place a scoop of ice cream into each. Pour strawberries and orange juice mixture overtop of the ice cream. If you wish, add an artistic dollop of whipped cream and garnish with peppermint leaves.
