Popular in Mexico and the Caribbean, agua fresca is a light beverage that gets dressed up with a dash of lime and a glug of tequila.

Ready Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

6 cups cubed watermelon, with rind and seeds removed

2 cups water

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup ice

8 ounces white tequila

Juice of half a lime

Method

In a blender, purée watermelon, water and sugar until smooth. Add ice and run motor again for 30 seconds. Transfer to a glass pitcher and add tequila. Mix in lime juice, and serve.
