wine review

The late author and Canadian historian Pierre Berton once told me that Troplong Mondot was one of his favourite wines. A red Bordeaux from the Saint-Emilion appellation, this 2007 vintage is a smooth blend of mostly merlot with some cabernet sauvignon. It offers up a strong note of blueberry with a luscious mocha character as well as minerals and smoke. It should age beautifully for at least a decade and would be perfect with prime rib or roast beef.
