Clear, mid-brown in colour, this limited-release brew shows restrained dark-roast character and very good balance. It's smooth and malty, with nuances of molasses, dried dates and coffee and a moderately hoppy backbone for bitter balance. Good for a variety of cheeses and very nice on its own on a cool autumn evening. Available from October to March at LCBO stores.
