From the chic Tuscan coastal zone of Maremma, this full-bodied red is a “Super Tuscan” blend of French varieties, namely merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc. I love it. Succulent, velvety and concentrated, it combines cherry, dark chocolate and spice notes with cigar, violet and funky earth. A coating of fine, sticky tannins provide admirable structure. Great now for steak, though it should continue to improve for a decade or more. Available in Quebec and distributed by Vendemmia International in Alberta.
