I wish I could add a third "o" to "smooth" but it wouldn't make it past the copy-editing desk or even my Microsoft Word spell-check. But this is a triple-o smooth, polished-as-a-cue-ball red. It's medium-full-bodied and brimming with cherry, vanilla, cedar and tobacco notes. It could almost be Spanish, and that's a compliment for a California wine based on a classic Spanish grape. Try it with grilled pork chops or dishes involving salty ham.
