An exceedingly tannic, astringent red grape, sagrantino is a signature of Italy's Umbria region, sometimes known to trend-aware tourists as the "new Tuscany." This one's packed with heady Italian-café aromas of dark coffee and chocolate, dense with additional nuances of plum, black pepper and tar. Initially smooth, it turns chewy and tight as the tannins exert a satisfying grip. Great for grilled red meats.
