Operating since 1978, Rosenblum Cellars helped bring California's signature grape, zinfandel, to modern prominence along with Ridge and Ravenswood – known locally as the "three Rs." This is full-bodied red zinfandel, not the sweet, easygoing rosé known as "white" zin. The winery bottles more than 20 different zins from around the state, including this one from Paso Robles along California's Central Coast. Smartly crafted, it's smooth and ripe but not raisin- or prune-like, with flavours of raspberry jam and cherry dusted with baking spices and backed by delicate acidity. Marvellous for pork roast, grilled steak or aged cheeses.
