Well-made and, for a Châteauneuf-du-Pape, not ridiculously priced. There's a bit of old- and new-school in this grenache-syrah-mourvèdre red blend, with half the volume matured in small barrels and half in large, flavour-neutral vats. Full-bodied, it's delectably chewy and brimming with peppery spice. That spice steps back slightly to let the mouthwatering cherry- and raspberry-like fruit deliver its friendly hug before returning big time in the lingering finish. Drink now or let it improve with up to five more years. Available in Ontario.
