A reader sent me a photo of an emptied bottle of this southern-French red as a hot tip. I know this producer well. The wines are impressive for the money. The 2011 merlot shows medium body, juicy berry and attractive licorice and herbal overtones. It would be nice with herb-infused roast poultry. Available in Ontario (though other worthy Les Jamelles offerings are sold in other provinces).
