wine review

Chile has been making impressive strides with carmenere, a red grape that emerged as a country signature in the 1990s. The quality is on fine display here. It's full-bodied and well structured, with pure, berry-like fruit, a whiff of violets, solid acid backbone and a juicy, savoury profile. Try it with rare duck breast or grilled beef. Available in Ontario.
