Sherry Lang-Laveau and François Laveau
How is training going? "Great," Mr. Laveau says. The pair recently did a practice run for the Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10K, which they'll be running in this weekend. As for the Sporting Life 10K, Mr. Laveau just hopes the weather stays cool. "As long as it's cool I don't think we'll have any problems."
Have you ever seen a costumed runner at a race? A few runners dressed as bananas were on view at the Harry's Spring Run Off in Toronto a few weeks ago. "They were blocking me," Mr. Laveau says. "I could have made it a lot sooner to the finish line."
Would you ever dress up for a run? "No way," he says. "You're too hot. … To be in a suit, that's too much. That's an invitation to go to the hospital."

How is training going? "I took the weekend off so I've been kind of making up for it," Ms. Choi says. "I'm fairly confident … but in terms of timing I always get nervous. I'm hoping to do it in 45 minutes, but we'll see."
Have you ever seen a costumed runner at a race? Ms. Choi also ran the Harry's Spring Run Off a few weeks ago and saw several runners in suits as well as the banana costumes. "I do get a chuckle out of it. But through most of the run I'm concentrating on the run itself."
Would you ever dress up for a run? While it's fun to see other runners decked out costumes, Ms. Choi won't be one of them at any of the races she enters. "It's not going to happen."

Jen Cooper
How is training going? "I did get to the gym three times last week and was feeling really good. I was doing more strength training and cross training. And my knee has not been acting up at all, so that's very good," she says.
Have you ever seen a costumed runner at a race? "The only thing I've seen is the pace bunnies with the bunny ears," she says.
Would you ever dress up for a run? Ms. Cooper is definitely in the non-costume camp.
