Ingredients
1 cup milk
1 small onion, peeled
2 whole cloves
Pinch of mace
6 peppercorns
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon cream
Method
In a double boiler, heat milk, being careful not to boil. Add onion, cloves, mace and peppercorns. Allow liquid to simmer for 30 minutes. In a saucepan, place bread crumbs and strain hot milk over top, beating with a fork. Add salt and butter. Cook over low heat for 20 minutes, beating frequently with fork. Add cream. Serve over turkey.
