Jamie Oliver

@jacquidotcom: My body treats carbs as sugar. Any tasty carb-less dishes to help?

Jamie Oliver: My belief is that completely cutting out carbs, unless medically prescribed to do so, is not wise. Carbs give you energy to help you function, so cutting them down too much is unsustainable. However, if you want to lose weight, eating fewer carbs can be effective. Your first port of call is to switch from refined grains to whole grains – swap white rice and pasta to whole-grain varieties and try out different grains such as brown, red, wild or black rice, quinoa and pearl barley, all of which will fill you up. Cutting carbs isn't the sole solution, though – back it up by upping your fruit and veg, and get active. Good luck!
