Canada's brightest shine at Interior Design Show

From Saturday's Globe and Mail

Although Canada has produced its share of design-world superstars, many of them – Karim Rashid, the late Tobias Wong – chose to go abroad to find success. That is slowly changing.

As this year’s Interior Design Show in Toronto makes clear, a greater contingent of homegrown designers both established and emerging is not only finding success in Canada, but forging a national aesthetic based on attention to materials, robust lines, cheeky humour and a marked eco-consciousness.

As many of them descend on the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the 13th annual IDS, Globe Style profiles a roster of the best and brightest. The show opens Thursday night and runs until Sunday.
