What do you think about displaying children’s art and family photos in a home? Too cheesy?
I am totally good with having family photos around the home, as long as they are in the right rooms and in the proper frames.
In a living room, I like formal but simple silver frames. For the family room, choose shots of fun times and laughter and use similar frames in varying sizes. Place frames on a table in groupings of three or five – don’t overpopulate the surface.
As for the photos themselves, keep those sexy pictures for your bedroom, and absolutely no bathing-suit shots. Remember to be respectful of the whole family so don’t display an image where you look good but your brother doesn’t. Kids’ art should be hung in their rooms on a cork board; don’t frame their work.
Our children are always growing and tomorrow there will be another, better piece. I would also avoid hanging art of your own making in your house; did you cash a gallery’s cheque lately? So far, none of my pieces have touched me the way that those which I have paid for do.
