WHY YOU SHOULD PLANT IT
This dwarf variety of goldenrod, a tough native plant that doesn't cause allergies, is a gorgeous new cultivar that explodes with brilliant gold panicles from mid-August on. Do not make the mistake of viewing this genus as a weed. Every garden should have one.
WHERE TO PLANT IT
Tuck it into areas where the soil is left open, then add humus and keep it moist. It will do fantastically well. After flowering is over, cut it back. For a spectacular natural look, combine it with asters, which are in the same family.
WHAT IT OFFERS
Handsome and reliable, this clump-forming native grows to about 60 centimetres high and is a lovely addition to any field, border or container. The leaves are elegant and a bright shade of green. It is also attractive to beneficial insects. Plant it near maples and it will discourage maple seedlings.
