I don't understand watering. What does it mean to water below the roots?
Proper watering is a gardening must, of course. Overwatering is just as bad as underwatering since it can lead to fungal diseases. Water every couple of days for two weeks when you have first installed plants. With trees, give them three buckets of water every couple of days (it’s the easiest way to make sure they are getting the right amount) after they have first been planted.
Once the garden is established, water twice a week for 45 minutes or once a week for 90 minutes. This will ensure that water gets below the root system and create deep, strong roots and healthy plants.
