What They Got: Aside from new heating and cooling systems, this century-old Victorian preserves much of its vintage components circa 1880, such as mouldings, wainscotting, stained glass windows and an oak bannister.

The layout is fairly traditional with a hallway connected to a living room, dining area and eat-in kitchen with access to a sunroom with an exit to a garage and private gardens on the 20-by-130-foot grounds. There are three bedrooms, including one with a loft space, and a four-piece bathroom.

The Agent’s Take: “It was a fantastic Victorian farmhouse with a very deep lot and two-car garage on a great street in a great, hip, up-and-coming neighbourhood,” said agent Kimmé Myles, who adds the average lot just 100 feet deep.

“It was definitely priced to attract multiple offers because we knew the house was quite unique.”

For instance, the design suits many demographics.

“It has an unfinished basement and it has three bedrooms, but there’s a really interesting loft space with small stairs that could be converted into an amazing bedroom space or they could open it up with a cathedral ceiling,” Ms. Myles said.

“There’s a side pantry room – more like a Victorian porch – in original condition … but it was so charming.”
