LISTING AGENT Scott Shallow, Brad J. Lamb Realty Inc.

The Action: At the tail end of the summer, the Thompson Residences had a few suites on the market. Some models need a month of marketing, but this two-bedroom unit owned by agent Scott Shallow was more stylish and a deal was struck after just two showings.

What They Got: A few years ago, Freed Development completed a mixed-use project home to the Thompson Hotel, restaurants and private residences, such as this 1,200-square-foot unit upgraded with hardwood floors, custom lighting and tub tiles up to the ceiling in two personalized bathrooms, including one with a television built into the cabinetry.

The layout is modern with open living and dining area with sliding balcony doors and a wall of south-facing window, as well as a Poggenpohl kitchen off to one side with an island, gas hookup and stainless-steel appliances, including Bosch and Faber brands.

Hidden away are two bedrooms, including a master suite with a walk-in closet and bathroom, in addition to a locker and parking spot downstairs.

Monthly fees of $758 cover services and amenities.

The Agent's Take: "My house looks like an unbelievable showroom," says the owner and realtor, who negotiated for higher-calibre features directly from the builder. "[Plus] finding an apartment that has a protected view and faces over a park is a very rare thing in the city of Toronto."

Furthermore, residents have access to a long list of attractions. "The amenities are fantastic – there is a rooftop pool with a restaurant so you can get food or a drink up there," Mr. Shallow adds.

"Living in a hotel environment where you have activities all around you – you can go down to have something to eat or order room services to your apartment – is a very appealing thing. It's a great lifestyle."
