The Action: This semi-detached house was listed for several months this winter, but found its way back on the market with different agents in March. The sellers wanted the fastest plan of action, so the Freemans priced the property in the low $500,000s and highlighted its rare features.

What They Got: This three-bedroom house was modernized on the main and lower levels with new kitchens with rear walkouts to an L-shaped lot with a 21-foot frontage along Glenholme Avenue to the west and a backyard and private driveway off Hanson Road to the north.

The main floor is fairly open with a fireside living room and open dining area, but more private upstairs where there is one of three bathrooms and three bedrooms, two of which have walk-in closets.

The lower level is sectioned off as a bachelor suite with a carpeted recreation room and wood stove.

The Agent’s Take: “This house was in a quiet pocket north of Rogers Road and steps to Oakwood Village,” says agent Daniel Freeman. “With prices going up east of there, it’s really an up-and-coming area.”

Buyers also recognized the money invested in this home. “The owner did considerable work inside to update it and put in a second kitchen in the basement,” Mr. Freeman states.

“[Plus] you actually had two frontages and a three-car, detached garage, so there were people looking at the home with potential to some day see value from severing and building on the lot.”
