What They Got: The last few owners of this two-bedroom house remodelled the interiors with a more open and modern design, plus a two-bedroom basement suite with its own entertaining area, kitchen and walkout to the 30-by 130-foot grounds and three-car parking.

The owner’s unit features a central dining area between two fireside living spaces with crown mouldings, as well as a main floor bathroom, laundry room and renovated kitchen with ceramic floors, granite counters and arched entryways to a sun room with sliding doors to a tiered deck, private patio and shed.

The Agent’s Take: “Once we went a little bit out of the core, [the buyer] was able to get not only what he wanted in his budget, but also not compete and get a discount off the price,” Ms. Kaushansky explains. “It was very open and completely turnkey.”

Plus, the property had extra accommodations. “It has a basement apartment with a tenant already in place, which was a big selling feature,” Ms. Kaushansky notes. “It has a good yard, which was also important to him, and a private driveway, which was a nice contrast to the mutual drives of East York and the Danforth.”
