LISTING AGENTS Jeff, Mark, Norah and Paul Oulahen and Ajay Aheer, Re/Max Realtron Realty Inc.

The Action: Initially a builder's own home, this detached bungalow on a 43-by-120-foot corner lot in Scarborough captured the attention of more than 50 buyers who booked private showings and another 200 curious open house attendees. Multiple offers came in on the day appointed to review bids.

What They Got: About a decade ago, the roof, windows and driveway to the double garage were redone on this 1950s brick bungalow, but in recent years, it was given a new furnace, eat-in kitchen with ceramic finishes and refinished, waterproofed basement suite with a living area, kitchen and two bedrooms.

The main floor has a traditional plan with three bedrooms, one of two four-piece bathrooms and formal living and dining rooms with hardwood floors and crown mouldings.

The Agent's Take: "The builder that built that neighbourhood lived in this home and you could tell because he built it with a two-car garage, which none of the [other homes] had because it was on a corner lot," says agent Mark Oulahen.

"And it also had a cold room. None of the other ones had been dug out under the porch for a cold room."

Given the house's condition, it will likely be left as is. "It was close to the subway, but it is still quite affordable for what you're getting," Mr. Oulahen adds.

"The basement is a two-bedroom unit, so it's very functional with a separate entrance, three bedrooms upstairs and a nice big living room and kitchen."
