The Action: Some buyers couldn’t see past the more traditional decor of this detached, century-old residence or its proximity to Indian Road Crescent Junior Public School across the street. But among 100 eager visitors, there were a few who saw the possibilities, including two who presented strong competing offers.

The Agent’s Take: “It’s slightly different in that it has three porches – one at the front and two at the back – which is not normal. You’re lucky if you get one,” says agent Bill Mohan. “In one bedroom, somebody had taken a wall out, so that was a little different.”
“It’s a nice, beautiful, long lot,” Mr. Mohan adds. “One garage was a 11/2-style frame and the one beside it was an older garage with a wood frame and metal. It wasn’t fancy, but it meant you could have a huge garage at the back of the property.”
