LISTING AGENTS Tanya Sidorova and Michael Inwood, Sutton Group Realty Systems Inc.

The Action: Late October, this detached, two-storey house was in the spotlight with little else available, so the open house was flooded by more than 100 groups and nearly four dozen buyers with private showings. A three-way bidding war was broken by a bid of $1,017,000.

What They Got: This traditional brick residence retains its original details, such as hardwood floors, wood trims and French doors throughout, as well as plate rails around the dining room and fireplaces in the living room and an upper bedroom.

A more than 40-year-old addition increased the interior to 3,060 square feet of finished living space, including a lower-level recreation room, a main-floor family room, enlarged eat-in kitchen and a sitting area with a walkout to a deck off a fourth bedroom.

Other essentials include three bathrooms and a double garage accessed via a mutual drive on the 25-by-145-foot lot.

The Agent's Take: "It's steps away from Bloor," says agent Michael Inwood. "It's a good size lot and a three-level addition makes the footprint a lot larger than typical Bloor West Village homes."

For instance, most properties allow for three- or four-bedroom homes between 1,600 and 1,800-square feet. "This home had the fifth-bedroom possibility," Mr. Inwood says.
