So word of its sale pulled in over 20 parties during the open house and two dozen midweek, followed by several offers from eager buyers seeking an entry-level home in the prestigious neighbourhood.

What They Got: In the past decade, this roughly century-old residence was updated with new windows, furnace and hardwood floors, along with a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, Caesarstone quartz counters, marble backsplashes and an exit to a courtyard beside the double garage.

Though the 50-by-130-foot corner lot sides onto a busy street, it backs onto the Blythwood ravine.

Though older homes often disappear in favour of newer versions, this one will be spared that fate. “This was one of the architecturally significant homes in Lawrence Park,” Ms. Mills added.

“It had a lot of original charm and character of the house with some updates to the kitchen and bathrooms.”
