The Action: This detached residence in Princess Gardens displays dated decor, but the sight of an apartment building nearby is what really bothered buyers. Thus, the price was reduced to under $800,000 and several low-ball offers were rejected as the seller was set on signing a deal for the full list price.
What They Got: What appears to be a brick bungalow on a 55-by-125-foot lot is a roughly 50-year-old backsplit residence with four levels of living space and an attached double garage.

The Agent’s Take: “It was very large and had a nice backyard,” agent JoAnne Gludish said. “[The buyers] were looking for something not quite as large, but they really feel in love with this because it had a lot of possibilities for them.”
While most buyers were keen to renovate, they wouldn’t change the area. “There is a plaza close by that offers all the amenities – there’s a large Metro there – and everything you need,” Ms. Gludish added.
