LISTING AGENT Robin Pope, Pope Real Estate Ltd.
THE ACTION: About a dozen showings were granted for this one-bedroom suite in the Corktown District complex just down the street from a new 18-acre park, called Corktown Common. Given the absence of comparable suites vacant, this one sold relatively fast within two weeks.
WHAT THEY GOT: In a unique compound made up of four newer mid-rise buildings, this fourth- floor suite was given a 466-square-foot plan with loft-style characteristics, such as ten-foot ceilings, polished concrete floors and an open living, dining and cooking area along a wall of windows.
Supporting elements include one bathroom and en suite laundry facilities. Monthly dues of $265 pays for use of water, a rooftop garden, gym, media and party rooms spread throughout the complex.
THE AGENT’S TAKE: “The biggest selling feature is that the neighbourhood is going through a huge gentrification,” says agent Robin Pope, who also praises on-site attractions. “[Owners] have access to the amenities in the larger building, but only for the residents here in this building is a really nice roof terrace.”
Like other units, this one has an urban edge. “It has polished concrete floors, large warehouse windows and ten-foot ceilings, which are nice features for a small little space,” Mr. Pope notes.
