With the first phase of its new high-rise development in Mississauga City Centre 85 per cent sold, Pinnacle International is now adding a sister tower to the south, banking on the appeal of another high-rise condo in a largely low-rise neighbourhood.
“There are advantages to being in a 48-storey building with Mississauga being relatively flat to the west of us, north and south,” says Anson Kwok, vice-president of sales and marketing.
“We have tremendous views from this location because there’s really nothing in front of us. So you can actually see the CN Tower and Lake Ontario, and from the other side of the tower, you can see endlessly.”
This 469-unit residence will be the second and final addition to Pinnacle Grand Park on Burnhamthorpe Road, about a five-minute drive from Square One Shopping Centre and the Living Arts Centre.
“We’re in a quiet part of City Centre off Webb Drive, close to a lot of schools and parks, so you see a lot of people walking around,” says Mr. Kwok. “There’s a strong community feel because there are mainly homes in the neighbourhood.”
While many active professionals are excited by the proximity to the entertainment, dining and shopping at Square One and the recreation facilities at John “Bud” Cleary Park nearby, empty nesters are pleased to see a Shoppers Drug Mart among the shops and restaurants in a plaza just south of the project.
“It’s amazing how many purchasers look to that when they’re downsizing,” says Mr. Kwok, who has spoken with prospective buyers leading up to the official launch of phase two in November.
“We have numerous people getting up there in years and they want to be able to fill their prescriptions easily.”
To get around town or head out of it, downtown Toronto and Pearson airports are quickly accessible via Mississauga Transit, GO Transit, QEW and the 400-series highways.
While new retail space will be created in Grand Park’s first phase – which has 321 units in a 28-storey frame – the second tower will only house private residences. “We thought there was some use for some ground floor units that might be a benefit to those with dogs,” adds Mr. Kwok.
Suite sizes will also be smaller than the first tower with one and two bedroom plans between 590 to 1,049 square feet. Various models will offer dens and bedrooms separated by open living and dining areas with balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The two-bedroom model suite highlights standard finishes, such as laminate wood floors, granite or Caesarstone counters and porcelain or ceramic tile work, plus stainless steel kitchen appliances and stacked laundry machines.
Grand Park 2 will have its own atrium lobby with 24-hour concierge and a fifth floor recreation centre with a gym, pool, hot tub and yoga room, as well as a games room, theatre and party room with a kitchen and dining area, all overlooking an extensive outdoor terrace.
Included with each unit will be parking and a locker, plus monthly fees of 43 cents per square foot.
