One of the greatest luxuries of the latest collaboration between Greenpark Group of Companies and Fieldgate Homes will be its access to urban attractions in and around the mixed-use development in downtown Toronto.

“We’ve done a broker launch and a soft opening to registrants, so we’re about 55 per cent sold,” says Lino Pellicano, vice-president of the high-rise division for Greenpark Group of Companies. “People find it’s in the right location with the right mix of what they’re looking for in the building.”

Situated at the northwest corner of Adelaide and Ontario streets, the 21- and 19-storey towers will contain 525 residential suites, ground level shops and eateries fronting onto Adelaide Street and recreational facilities on various levels, as well as 24-hour concierge and guest suites.

“Axiom is providing a lot of hotel-inspired amenities that makes it a little different from everyone else,” Mr. Pellicano notes. “People like to have that extension of their living space where they can entertain in a larger space and perhaps lounge around with a larger group of friends without having to leave the building.”

A grand porte-cochère and landscaped promenade at the building’s north and south entrances will allude to the lavish attention to detail in its lounges, theatre, fitness stations and party room, as well as a second-floor terrace and two rooftop decks with lounging and dining areas.

When residents do want to venture beyond the glass and precast structure, they will be steps from restaurants, the St. Lawrence Market, the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts and artisanal shops and galleries in the Distillery District.

“Its walkability and accessibility is great,” Mr. Pellicano adds.

In the first phase – the taller of the two towers – will contain 294 units, including studios, one- and two-bedrooms, with open principal rooms, kitchens and balconies, plus dens in some cases.

“There are a lot of different purchasers out there and they’re buying in the whole range of unit sizes that are available,” says Mr. Pellicano.

Nine-foot ceilings, engineered oak hardwood floors and porcelain bathroom tiles will appear in each unit, as well as quartz counters, glass back-splashes and stainless steel, Energy Star appliances. Penthouses will be appointed ten-foot ceilings and upgraded version of standard finishes. Many green features will be incorporated – from low-flow toilets to energy-efficient thermal glazed windows – keeping monthly fees at 52 cents per square feet. Hydro and water will be individually metered. Each unit will include a storage/bike locker, but parking will cost $35,000.

Move-in dates are slated for December, 2016.
