What They Got: This early 20th century residence was recently converted from a dilapidated rooming house into a stylish family house with newly exposed a brick walls and modern luxuries, such as teak hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and central vacuum system.

The layout is more open with a combined living and dining area, a central kitchen and rear family room with a walkout to a deck, garden and garage on the 13-by-137-foot lot, which is also accessible from a lower-level bedroom off a recreation room.

The second and third floors are sectioned off to house laundry facilities, one of two full bathrooms and three bedrooms, including a skylit loft space.

The Agent’s Take : “It was a phenomenal renovation, there was no stone was left unturned, and there was so much attention to detail throughout the property,” agent Marni Lokash said.

“[In addition] I had buyers who came in and said they originally had no interest in seeing it, but walked in and thought there’s a lot more livable space than they thought based on it being 13 feet wide.”

Superseding the remodel is the proximity to amenities. “A lot of people who came to look at the house worked within the neighbourhood,” adds Ms. Lokash, citing the buyers as an example.

“[Plus] having one of the best breakfast joints at the end of the street – Aunties and Uncles – was definitely favourable.”
