The Action: Several open houses gave renovators and builders the chance to examine this classic, brick residence on a short street off Park Lawn Road. A few insufficient offers were rejected, but one finally stuck shortly after the price was reduced to $529,900.

What They Got: A property spanning 44- by-125 feet is occupied with a two-storey structure surrounded by a deep lawn, private driveway and attached garage in the front and an open, fenced-in green space in the back.

Major repairs will be needed to restore this 70-plus-year-old house, which is currently arranged with three bedrooms, one bathroom, a den, a fireside living room, dining area and kitchen, plus a lower-level laundry room and workshop with access to the garden.

It is a short walk to schools and shops, as well as a short drive to waterfront parks and Gardiner Expressway.

The Agent’s Take: “There are only, like, six homes on this street, which is a quiet dead-end street, and the lot faced south, so it was a sunny lot,” says agent Ed Allan.

“It was a good size [lot]for the area, which is an up-and-coming area in Toronto – west of Park Lawn, north of the Queensway – where there is a lot of [condominium]construction going on.”
