LISTING AGENT Bill Thom, Re/Max Realtron Realty Inc.

The Action: Not far from the Thornhill Golf and Country Club and the Ladies' Golf Club of Toronto, this custom-built estate clocked in about two dozen requests for private showings. Despite other options for sale on the same street, this one sold fairly quickly given its price point and exposure late last year.

What They Got: Over $100,000 was spent on recent upgrades to this eight-year-old residence, which bears a stately stone, stucco and plaster façade with a triple garage, an interlocking driveway for 20 cars and several main and lower-level walkouts to a 100-by-302-foot lot groomed with mature trees, sprinklers, stone patio and enlarged two-tiered deck.

Inside, there is about 5,200-square-feet of space fashioned with hardwood, ceramic and marble flooring, pot lights nine feet above on each level and a winding, skylit staircase with wrought iron railings, plus valance lighting, granite surfaces and stainless steel appliances in the eat-in kitchen and rough-in plumbing for a secondary cooking area.

Public quarters include a library and dining room, as well as a formal entertaining space, family room and lower-level recreation area all with gas fireplaces. Carrying out daily chores is easy with seven bathrooms, including one in all five bedrooms upstairs, a main floor laundry room and central vacuum system, in addition to a lower level gym.

The Agent's Take: "It's in an upscale neighbourhood," says agent Bill Thom, who cites an award-winning singer as a long-time resident there. "It's a beautiful house and a big one too."

While the property size is the norm in the area, it's still memorable. "Not everyone has … a U-shaped driveway leading to a three-car garage, which is not facing the street, which is considered a good design," Mr. Thom said."Right next to the kitchen is provisions for a wok kitchen, meaning you can do your soups or souvlaki or anything that smells or is smoky in there. The concept initially came from Vancouver."
