The Action: Three parties applied to buy this two-bedroom and one-bathroom bungalow, which largely captured the interest of locals hoping to stay in the Etobicoke community.
What They Got: This detached, brick residence is about 60 years old but has undergone many changes in recent years, from eliminating a third bedroom to updating the kitchen, windows, roof, heating and cooling systems. Plus, the driveway was repaved and the garage roof was replaced.

The Agent’s Take: “It’s a big lot and the person who bought the house is going to spend a lot of money rebuilding, or may even tear the house down,” says agent Ed Allan, whose seen as many as 20 older homes demolished on the street in recent years.
“The biggest selling feature of that house was that it has a two-car garage in the backyard with a concrete floor. It was perfect. You could make it into an art or recording studio.”
Though many homes on the street may be new, local amenities are well-established attractions.
“It’s near Islington [Avenue], so it’s a five-minute bus ride to the subway, it’s also near good shopping, good schools and the Queensway theatre district where there’s a big Cineplex and restaurants around it,” adds Mr. Allan.
