LISTING AGENTS Dina Maglietta and David Knox, Summerhill Prestige Real Estate Ltd.

The Action: Just north of Summit Golf and Country Club, this British Tudor was listed for $2.499-million when winter weather made it near inaccessible, especially during the ice storm.

So this summer, it was relisted for $2.299-million and a large billboard alerted passersby, such as the new owners, of the unique residence hidden behind the trees lining the main road.

What They Got: A rambling 200-by-643-foot lot – nearly three acres in size – accommodates a roughly 40-year-old home with about 5,000 square feet of living space spread across three levels, a newer roof, mechanics and heated floors in the main-floor library and three out of five updated bathrooms.

The centre-hall plan retains fireside living and family rooms, a dining area and an eat-in kitchen with a walkout to a deck that is also accessible from a solarium, as well as a recreation and games room below with a wet bar, fourth wood-burning fireplace and patio exit.

Creature comforts range from five bedrooms, including a lower-level guest room and second-floor master suite with a fireplace and bathroom, to a butler's kitchen and 2.5-attached garage.

The Agent's Take: "It's a very executive, private road that has a rare enclave of five unique homes that all differ. They don't look alike at all," says agent Dina Maglietta, who helped the sellers buy this home 20 years ago.

"This one is set back about 400 feet away from the main road, so it's set back quite nicely and privately, and perched up on a hill."

Inside, the original owner imported finishes gathered during his travels.

"The style of the house was an English or British Tudor and he made it look really authentic with all the detailing on the outside of the house and the inside, including stained-glass windows, mostly leaded glass, and he even had coat of arms in the living room window he had custom for the house," Ms. Maglietta says.

"It feels like a very important home."
