MacKenzie Heights home gets two quick offers Add to ...

ASKING PRICE $2,698,000

SELLING PRICE $2,701,000

AGENT Karin Smith, Re/Max Select Properties

The Action: There was no lack of interest in this west side house on a 53- by 140-foot lot. Immediately after the agent’s open house there were two offers made by mainland Chinese buyers.

“We could have sold the house in one day,” says agent Karin Smith. “But we went to the open house and were able to generate more offers.”

In the end, the home went to a Chinese bidder.

What They Got: The Tudor-style cottage is surrounded by mature plantings, with fruit trees and a vegetable garden out back off a 200-square-foot deck.

The custom kitchen is new, as is most of the rest of the house after about $300,000 worth of renovations by the owners, who are a contractor and an interior designer. “They were able to bring their skills to the home and everything was done to the highest quality,” Ms. Smith said.

There’s also a spacious, legal one-bedroom rental suite in the basement.

The Agents Take: “In my mind, it’s best part of MacKenzie Heights,” Ms. Smith said.

“I had people coming in here saying things like, ‘I’ve always wanted to live on this street.’ People know it’s a great area for children.”
