The Action: There were already 20 people signed up for private tours of this 19-year-old house on the day it hit the market, so it didn't take long before two offers to buy materialized.
What They Got: In a now-established area of Pickering, John Boddy constructed a subdivision of low-rise homes, including this 2,265-square-foot house on a private 31-by-139-foot corner lot backing onto Finch Avenue and Duncannon Ravine.
After the sellers moved in, they replaced the roof and double garage door, installed new floors and carpeting and remodeled one of three bathrooms and an eat-in kitchen with ceramic backsplashes, stainless steel appliances and a patio door to the landscaped grounds.
By day, residents can entertain in the living and dining rooms and a mid-level family room with a gas fireplace, and by night, they can retire to three bedrooms on the second floor.
The Agent's Take: "There were a few other homes on the market at the same time, but this one had the kitchen redone, it had trendy décor and [the seller's] furniture showed well in it," says agent Heather Lemieux. "It had everything a buyer was looking for."
The upper levels were also memorable.
"A lot of the rooms have interesting ceiling lines, which adds a lot of character to the house," Ms. Lemieux states. "From the upper floors, you can see the ravine."
