If you were scarred by high-school science class, why not turn what were emblems of chemistry-lab tedium into shows of geek chic, enlisting those beakers, graduated cylinders and test tubes (either new or vintage) for your next dinner party. Use the flute-like test tubes or beakers as glasses for mixed drinks or shots.

Fill larger beakers and cylinders with fulsome floral bouquets or dramatic single stems. The containers are a bit pricier than regular stemware, but are worth it in the long run, as they're made of strong, high-quality glass and don't tend to break.
