COOL AS ICE: Tie Domi

For all Tie Domi's aggressive antics in the rink, the retired NHLer has a much softer side when it comes to raising his three teens, Carlin, Max and Avery. "I've loved watching them grow up and giving them lots of time and lots of love and helping them be better people by [encouraging] them to make the good decisions, not the easy ones," the former Toronto Maple Leaf, whose style can be described as city slick, says.

FINE AND DANDY: Shawn Hewson

In addition to being a fashion plate himself, proud dad Shawn Hewson, co-designer with wife Ruth Promislow of the clothing label Bustle, is raising equally stylish progeny. "I've seen her do things that I never thought would look good," Hewson, whose own look tends toward modern dandyism, says of his three-year-old daughter, Georgia, who chooses her own outfits every day. "She put a sweater on upside down and looked like a Harajuku girl; she has also worn a tutu as a scarf." Sometimes, Hewson and Promislow take Georgia to adult events, where she is often the youngest (and cutest) guest. "We like to expose her to as much as possible and to as many types of people as possible," Hewson says. "It feels like hanging out with a friend."

RUNWAY READYS: Brad Kroenig

Until he walked Chanel's spring 2011 show with his son Hudson last fall - both were wearing matching white boucle jackets - few actually knew that star model and Karl Lagerfeld muse Brad Kroenig is a father. Kroenig, who hails from St. Louis, Mo., began his modeling career with an Abercrombie & Fitch campaign in 2002, has appeared in countless magazine editorials and continues to work with Le Chateau as the face of the brand. But he says that having Hudson as a runway wingman topped all previous experiences. "It was like a dream," Kroenig says. As for Hudson, the three-year-old already dresses himself head to toe, clearly influenced by Uncle Karl. "He has learned from the best," Kroenig laughs.

CLASS ACT: Fabrizio Filippo

Fabrizio Filippo is best known as the lawyer Sam Camponelli in the Showcase series Billable Hours (he's also the creator and executive producer). But it's safe to say he's not keeping track of the time he's put into being a dad to Asher who is now two and a half. Currently developing a new Showcase sitcom and an indie crime film, the Toronto actor has the luxury of writing from home, which means more quality father-son time, whether long bike rides down the Don River trail or guitar before bed. But he leaves his son's outfits to his style-minded wife Robin Payne, a magazine editor. "He's amazingly dressed - a toddler in skinny jeans," Filippo says.

SOULFUL STYLE: Roger Mooking

On each episode of his Food Network series Everyday Exotic, Roger Mooking marries exotic flavours from around the world with foolproof cooking, but his not-so-secret ingredient is a sprinkling of good old-fashioned soul: The Trinidad-born, Edmonton-raised chef was a music artist (and part of the Toronto band Bass is Base) before turning to cooking full-time. On the home front, the trendy-casual dresser also pours heart and soul into the time he spends with his three daughters, who range in age from four years old to two and a half months.
