Britain's Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and his daughters princesses Beatrice (L) and Eugenie (C) wave as they travel along the Processional Route to Buckingham Palace after the wedding ceremony of Britain's Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, in London, on April 29, 2011WARREN ALLOTT

WINNERS

Bridesmaids:

Pippa's dress, designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, gives new hope to the bridesmaids of tomorrow that their frocks need not be frou-frou exercises in humiliation.

Net-A-Porter:

Samantha Cameron's emerald green pleated Burberry dress sold out on the online luxury retailer's web site within minutes of her arrival at Westminster Abbey. Cost: £495, only slightly more expensive than Kate's Issa engagement dress.

Yellow:

Typically a difficult colour to pull off, the Queen proved that the sunny shade can be worn on the most royal of occasions. Note the neutral-hued shoes; anything darker would have been a no-no.

LOSERS

Foreheads:

Rather than perching on the side of the crown, headpieces worn by Victoria Beckham, Princess Beatrice and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson were positioned front and centre, directly above the face.

The train:

The bride's train was nine-feet long, compared with Diana¹s astounding 25. Even at that length, it required a lot of careful handling by sis Pippa.

David Beckham's top hat:

He carried it both entering and exiting the cathedral but never seemed to place it on his head. Either he wanted to show off his new haircut or he was worried about being chided in the locker room.
