You have Glenn Beck playing on loop in the family room. You bake "liberty cookies" for your son's school bake sale. You read to him from The Fountainhead before bed. But still, he's not taking to your political beliefs. Time to ship him off to Tampa Liberty School.
The St. Petersburg Times reports on this new summer camp run by the Tampa 912 Project, a Tea Party organization. Lessons on liberty are delivered in some very, er, subtle ways.
"Children will win hard, wrapped candies to use as currency for a store, symbolizing the gold standard. On the second day, the "banker" will issue paper money instead. Over time, students will realize their paper money buys less and less, while the candies retain their value," the St. Petersburg Times reports.
Worry not, parents at the other end of the political spectrum - there are camps that will help show wee Sebastian the light, too.
Between setting up a tent and roasting marshmallows over a campfire in scenic White Rock, B.C., he can learn about the virtues of socialism at the Young Communist League's summer camp (only ONE marshmallow per person!)
Then there are the camps that will equip your kids to rise up against their patriarchal and corporate leaders, respectively: feminist summer camp and Youth Empowered Action camp.
