Jennifer Aniston delays wedding to avoid association with Brangelina, report says Add to ...

No one wants their ex to overshadow their wedding day. But would you go out of your way to plan your nuptials around your former flame?

According to Us Weekly, that’s exactly what Jennifer Aniston is doing. The magazine claims that the actress has postponed her wedding with fiancé Justin Theroux to dodge any perceived overlap with the impending marriage between her ex-husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

“She does not want her day associated with them,” Us Weekly quotes an unnamed “insider” as saying, adding that Aniston had initially wanted to hold her wedding earlier so she could marry before Pitt did, but that Theroux talked her out of it. “Justin got weirded out by all the rushing.”

Neither couple has announced a wedding date, but celebrity watchers have speculated that the Pitt-Jolie wedding is scheduled to take place later this month.

If Us Weekly’s report is true, it’s hard not to sympathize with Aniston. It must be aggravating that her relationship with Pitt continues to dog her more than eight years after their highly publicized divorce.

Sure, in her shoes, many of us might be tempted to say, “who cares?” and just go ahead with whatever plans we may have. After all your wedding day is to celebrate you and your partner’s future together, not to dwell on a long-dead relationship. But if your guest list overlaps with your ex’s, there’s no doubt comparisons will be made about the two weddings, and guests may possibly be forced to choose whose nuptials to attend.

If you found out your ex was getting hitched around the same time you were, what would you do?
