While the world gasps and reels at the apparent onstage pot-smoking antics of Miley Cyrus at MTV's European Music Awards in Amsterdam last weekend, Cyrus herself has moved on, y'all.

As reported by the San Jose Mercury News, Cyrus has already put the incident behind her by taking to Twitter on Monday to post the comment: "Sometimes in life you just gotta decide to not give AF."

A few hours later, Cyrus reiterated her blasé response to the controversy with her tweet: "So much fun last night! Amsterdam you're the dopesssst thank you for always being so good to me."

As the entire planet knows, Cyrus was at the MTV EMAs Sunday night to perform, and received an award for her single Wrecking Ball.

The broadcast's flashpoint moment came when Cyrus took out what looked to be a hand-rolled joint from her handbag, fired it up and took a big puff. According to several reports, she also appeared to be brandishing a bong during the show.

And while her brash behaviour may result in the cultural downfall of Europe, where the EMAs aired live, Cyrus can't be blamed for corrupting impressionable young American minds: MTV has already received rare praise for cutting out the footage of her smoking for U.S. broadcasts (note: MTV Canada aired the American version).

The watchdog group Parents Television Council applauded MTV for its censorship of the broadcast.

"Last night MTV made a responsible decision and they executed it perfectly," PTC president Tim Winter said in a statement. "… We applaud MTV for taking responsible actions to eliminate the drug use from its U.S. broadcast and we urge them to make that a uniform policy for all of its programming."

Of course, the PTC release makes no mention of the fact that any kid with a computer can find Miley's defiant stunt on YouTube, where various versions of the moment have already generated nearly a half-million views.

And while all this is going on, Digital Spy reports that Dutch authorities have launched an investigation into Cyrus seemingly smoking weed at the MTV event.

Tjitte Mastenbroek of the country's National Food and Consumer Authority said: "There is a smoking ban in public places in the Netherlands. Employees have the right to a smoke-free environment and this includes cameras and sound personnel."

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail reports that Twitter reaction to her EMAs appearance keeps mounting – and very little of the feedback is positive.

Wrote one Twitter user: "Seriously wtf is wrong with miley cyrus? Why would you smoke a joint at the ema awards?!"

Tweeted another: "Haha. Miley Cyrus is now smoking weed on live TV. What next?"

Also weighing in on the hubbub was British TV host Eamonn Holmes, who tweeted: "Miley Cyrus raises eyebrows again. At MTV awards she appears to smoke a joint. Tries a bit too hard to be controversial."

Which naturally raises the question: What can Cyrus possibly do next to shock us?

She turns 21 next weekend and will thereafter be able to legally drink in her home country. Be afraid.
