In a YouTube video titled 'Frank's Marriage Proposal in Central Park,' a young woman known as Kasey reacts to her engagement ring.

Thinking of popping the question this Christmas? You only have to look as far as YouTube for some heart-melting, over-the-top marriage proposal ideas - from musical numbers to magic tricks to Star Wars. Some grooms have even put their high-school shop classes to good use.

(Sadly, the most popular proposals on the site happen to be of the heart-breaking variety, like this poor guy.)

Here are five successful favourites:

1. This innovative groom - who has quickly been gathering hits on YouTube this week - rallied a group of friends to act as Bond-like spies to organize the proposal in Central Park, got a band to play his girlfriend's favourite song on a romantic bridge and executed an amazing ring toss. (Good thing the bride-to-be is a good catch.)

2. For musical numbers, we challenge you not to be touched by this one.(And then there's the Disney version, which just may be a little too slick.)

3. Maybe it's just the British accent (and we'll overlook the advertising plug at the end), but this guy sets a standard for video proposals.

4. A park, a red box, and the right girl. (Alternatively: Here's a guy, a horse and a Wal-Mart:

5. And finally, sometimes a grown man just needs an excuse to swing a light sabre.

Now we'd like to hear about your favourite proposals. The bigger the cheese factor the better.
